Ventrilo

Ventrilo is a program, much like yahoo instant messenger, it can allow 20 or more people at a time to talk for absolutely free. I know that sounds really salesmeny, but the fact is, for you, it is free.

 

Ok, so, now that you know a little about what a ventrilo is, lets get started on setting it up. The first step is to download it. You can do this just by right clicking this link and selecting save as. (if you have a mac, download this file instead. I have never downloaded to a mac before, so my instructions might be off a bit, but I am sure it is similar.) Be sure to save it to a place you can find it after you download it. After you download it, double click on the file. This will unpack the file. Just go through the steps to unpack it. Make sure that you tell it to place a shortcut on your desktop so you can open it easily. Once you have done that, double click on the icon that has been downloaded. The icon should look like the picture to the top left of this page. Give yourself a pat on the back, you are half way there. :)

You will see the page that I have put to the right here. The little arrows to the right of the page are what you will be dealing with. The first one, click it, this will ask you to fill out some stuff, all you have to do is put your name or whatever name you want the rest of the guild to recognize you as. After that, just press ok. The next arrow button is a little more tricky. Click the only button it will let you witch is new. This will open a page that looks like the picture to the right just below the first one. Just name the server whatever you want.

The hostname or IP is 208.122.38.170

And the port number is 9223

Just click ok, and you are all set. Just click connect.
